Assam Launches Automated Transfer Portal to Curb Corruption

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has launched an automated digital transfer portal for the Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department to ensure transparency and curb corruption in employee postings. The initiative aims to eliminate political interference, middlemen and bribery in the transfer process.

Forest Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah said transfers would be based on available vacancies rather than recommendations. The portal will allow employees to apply for transfers and mutual postings online, reducing human intervention amid the state government’s crackdown on alleged cash-for-postings activities.
