Assam Launches Cashless Treatment Scheme for Road Accident Victims
The Assam government has introduced the Cashless Treatment of Road Accident Victims Scheme 2025, offering up to ₹1.5 lakh in free medical care for each victim during the first seven days after a road accident. Aligned with MoRTH guidelines, the scheme uses the e-Detailed Accident Report (e-DAR) platform and is integrated with PM-JAY for smooth implementation. District Commissioners have been instructed to activate the scheme, set up required financial systems, and appoint grievance redressal officers. The initiative aims to ensure timely, life-saving care for accident victims statewide.
