Assam Launches Rs 1,200 Crore Power Transmission Upgrade

Assam has begun a Rs 1,200 crore initiative to improve power transmission, focusing on rural areas. In 2024, over 12,000 km of old low-tension lines were replaced with safer conductors, and 250 km of new 11 kV lines were added. The project also includes 489 new high-voltage transformers under the RDSS. These upgrades aim to meet rising power demand and ensure reliable supply.
