Assam Man Held with ₹33 Cr Meth Haul Near India–Myanmar Border

An Assam man was arrested and over ₹33.18 crore worth of methamphetamine tablets were seized in a joint operation by Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police near the India–Myanmar border. The accused, Hasan Ali of Badarpur district, was apprehended on Friday in Mizoram’s Saitual district following intelligence inputs.

Security forces recovered 11.062 kg of methamphetamine tablets and seized a vehicle used for trafficking. The accused and the contraband were handed over to Mizoram Police, and a case will be registered under the NDPS Act, 1985. Officials said the operation highlights continued efforts to curb cross-border drug trafficking in the region.
