Assam Opposition Leader Seeks Stronger Border Security

Opposition leader Debabrata Saikia urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to strengthen security along the Assam-Bangladesh border. He highlighted repeated pushback operations since May that deported over 300 undocumented migrants despite BSF presence.

Saikia called for better BSF–police coordination, tech-based surveillance, clear SOPs, and diplomatic engagement with Bangladesh to address infiltration.
