Assam Police, in collaboration with Military Intelligence, arrested two over-ground workers (OGWs) linked to the banned United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) in Tinsukia on Monday. The suspects, identified as Bijit Dhar and Nantu Debnath, were involved in fund collection for the insurgent group and were found with Rs 2 lakh in cash. The arrests followed an earlier operation where another ULFA-I associate, Kiran Sharma, was apprehended and interrogated. The operation is part of ongoing efforts to dismantle ULFA(I)’s network in the region.
