Assam Police Arrest Four for Selling Bank Accounts to Cybercriminals
Assam police’s cyber cell and Hatigaon police arrested four individuals on Friday in Guwahati for allegedly creating and selling bank accounts to hackers outside the state. The accused, Mukhtar Ali, Mustafa Hussain, Mirajul Hussain, and Javed Ali, were arrested at Hotel Royal. These accounts were used by cybercriminals to park illegally acquired funds. Police are now investigating links to criminals outside Assam. Similar arrests were made in September, with accounts being sold for up to Rs 80,000, even reaching cybercriminals in Dubai.
