Assam Police STF Cracks Down on Terror Sleeper Cells

Under Operation Praghat, Assam Police’s STF and Kokrajhar police arrested two individuals, Abdul Zaher Sheikh and Sabbir Mirdha, linked to terror activities.

This brings the total arrests to 10 in eight days, including members of the Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT), a banned Al-Qaeda-affiliated outfit.

STF, led by Partha Sarathi Mahanta, IPS, uncovered ABT’s sleeper cells operating in Assam and linked to Bangladesh. SDGP Singh emphasized coordinated efforts with national agencies to dismantle these terror modules and ensure India’s safety.
