Assam Police Warns of Action Against Rumours on LPG Shortage

Assam Police on Thursday warned of strict legal action against those spreading rumours about shortages of LPG and other petroleum products in the state.
The warning came after Ravi Kota stated that local refineries can currently meet only about 30% of the LPG demand in Assam. Authorities have asked citizens not to share misleading information that could create panic.
The government has formed a media monitoring committee to track misinformation. Meanwhile, oil companies and officials have assured that adequate LPG stock is available, and refineries such as Indian Oil Corporation and Numaligarh Refinery Limited are working to maintain uninterrupted supply.
