Assam Poll Timeline Announced; Nominations Open Till March 23

Assam’s Chief Electoral Officer Anurag Goel announced that nominations for the Assembly elections can be filed till March 23, with scrutiny on March 24 and withdrawal by March 26.

Campaigning will end on April 7, while polling will be held on April 9 from 7 am to 5 pm. The state’s voter count has risen to over 2.5 crore after recent updates.

The Model Code of Conduct is now in force, restricting new announcements and use of official resources for campaigning.
