Assam Procures 2.19 Lakh MT Paddy in 100 Days

The Assam government has procured 2.19 lakh metric tonnes of paddy directly from farmers within the first 100 days of its current tenure, marking a major push towards assured procurement and better returns for farmers.

The government has set a target of procuring 10 lakh MT of paddy annually at enhanced Minimum Support Prices, aiming to provide farmers with a reliable market, improve their income and strengthen Assam’s agricultural sector.
