Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police Seize ₹1.24 Crore in Illegal Currency

On December 4, Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police seized illegal Indian currency worth ₹1.24 crore in Champhai district’s Ngur area. A Myanmarese national was arrested. The currency included ₹500, ₹200, and ₹100 notes. This operation follows a December 3 seizure of 152.24 grams of heroin worth ₹1.06 crore in the same district. These actions highlight ongoing efforts to curb cross-border smuggling and trafficking in Mizoram, a state bordering Myanmar. Legal proceedings are in progress.
