Assam Sanctions Over 3.25 Lakh Rural Homes Under PMAY-G First Phase

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday distributed sanction letters to more than 3.25 lakh families under the PMAY-Gramin scheme, marking the completion of its first phase. The event was held in Boko, where Sarma confirmed that all names on the waiting list had been covered.
He announced that the next phase would begin with new geo-tagging and that the first instalment for construction would be released immediately. Sarma also recalled the March 2024 milestone when over 5 lakh completed houses were handed over in the presence of the Prime Minister. He added that the Centre has approved 5 crore more houses nationwide, with instructions for fresh geo-tagging to include deserving families.
