Assam State Zoo in Guwahati to Undergo Rs 362 Crore Renovation

The Assam State Zoo-cum-Botanical Garden in Guwahati is set for a major Rs 362 crore refurbishment, approved by the state cabinet on September 13. The project aims to improve animal living conditions and enhance visitor experiences. Upgrades include redesigned enclosures, a 300-seater auditorium for wildlife programs, expanded quarantine centers, an automated entry system, additional e-rickshaws, and more bio-toilets. The zoo, home to over 1,300 animals, will see significant infrastructure improvements to better serve both its inhabitants and visitors.
