Assam STF Disposes of 37,000 Contraband Phensedyl Bottles

Assam Special Task Force (STF) destroyed 37,000 bottles of Phensedyl, a controlled NDPS substance, at Panikhaiti, Guwahati. The disposal, valued at ₹70 lakh, was overseen by a Drugs Disposal Committee.

Since March 2023, the STF has arrested 325 offenders in 164 operations, seizing drugs worth ₹800 crore. Plans for the next disposal include large quantities of heroin, opium, ganja, and contraband capsules. This marks a major crackdown in Assam’s fight against drug trafficking.
