Assam Targets Aadhaar Holders Not in NRC Amid Infiltration Concerns
CM Himanta Biswa Sarma announced action against Aadhaar holders not listed in Assam’s NRC to curb illegal infiltration. Aadhaar-NRC linkage is now mandatory, especially in districts with Aadhaar figures exceeding population estimates. Over 11,000 ration cards have also been cancelled in early 2025 as part of this drive.
