Assam to Expand FRU Hospitals, Launches WhatsApp Helpline for Medicines

Health Minister Ashok Singhal said Assam will raise functional FRU hospitals from 88 to 100 by year-end. Nine C-section facilities have already started in remote areas. A WhatsApp helpline (986454130) has been launched for medicine shortage complaints. The State ensures 100% essential drug availability across health facilities. Shortage of specialist doctors remains, but new MBBS recruits are expected to ease the gap.
