Assam University to Inaugurate Mobile Planetarium on Foundation Day

Assam University, Silchar, will inaugurate a Mobile Planetarium on January 21 during its 33rd Foundation Day celebrations. Installed on the Students’ Union and Sports Board office rooftop with support from the Assam University Alumni Association, the NCSM-developed portable planetarium ‘Taromondal’ features an inflatable dome and advanced projection system. The mobile facility will be used for astronomy outreach in schools and remote areas across the Barak Valley and nearby regions. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajive Mohan Pant praised the initiative for promoting scientific curiosity among students.
