Assam’s Government Schools Show Remarkable Progress in Gunotsav 2025

Assam’s government schools have doubled their A+ Grade accreditation since 2017-18, reaching 13,300 in 2025, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced. A Grade schools also increased to 13,952, while lower-grade schools saw a sharp decline.

The Chief Minister credited teachers for this transformation, emphasizing Assam’s goal to lead in education by 2030. Gunotsav now includes uniform and mid-day meal assessments, with 92% of schools meeting uniform standards. Sarma urged officials to ensure full compliance for the remaining schools.
