ATASU Protests Harassment at Arunachal Border Over ILP Checks
ATASU Kamrup (Metro) has submitted a memorandum to Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, alleging harassment of travellers by unauthorized groups during Inner Line Permit (ILP) checks at the Arunachal border. The union claimed citizens from Assam and other states are being abused, even in police presence. An incident involving ATASU’s vice president at Gumto check-gate was highlighted. While supporting the ILP system, ATASU demanded enforcement only by authorized officials and urged both state governments to act against those misusing ILP checks.
