Bhagaduttapur Residents Oppose Proposed Liquor Outlet in Guwahati

Residents of Bhagaduttapur in Guwahati have objected to the proposed allotment of a liquor shop in their residential locality. In a written representation to the District Commissioner of Kamrup (Metropolitan), they said the move could disrupt the area’s peaceful social environment. Bhagaduttapur is also known as the residence of noted artiste Zubeen Garg.

The residents recalled that a similar proposal last year was dropped after public objections. With reports of site scouting on Kalyani Sagar Path, they urged the administration to reject the plan to preserve the residential character of the locality.
