Bilas Inn Shooting: Questions Raised Over Accused Ghanakanta Gogoi’s Gun Licence

Guwahati, October 31: Ghanakanta Gogoi, the prime accused in the Hotel Bilas Inn shooting case, was reportedly taken from Latasil Police Station with his face covered in black cloth on Saturday. Meanwhile, questions have emerged over his alleged Nagaland-issued firearm licence, despite restrictions on issuing gun licences to civilians in the state.

Separately, Gogoi’s lawyer clarified that his wife, Junmoni Gogoi, appeared before Dhemaji Police following a summons and had not voluntarily surrendered. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) continues its investigation into the October 26 shooting, which claimed five lives and left one person injured.
