Biswanath Sees Active Voting in First Phase of Assam Panchayat Polls

Biswanath district witnessed brisk polling in Assam’s first phase of Panchayat elections, with 43.21% turnout by 1:30 PM. Voting is underway in 747 booths across Biswanath, Behali, and Gahpur constituencies, covering 4.74 lakh voters and 1,312 candidates. So far, 261 candidates have been elected unopposed. The process has remained peaceful, with tight security and special arrangements, including women-managed booths and auxiliary stations.
