BJP Confident of Third Term in Assam, Claims Over 100 Seats: Sonowal

Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Friday expressed strong confidence that the BJP will form the government in Assam for a third consecutive term, projecting a victory of over 100 seats in the upcoming Assembly elections.
Speaking at a rally in Borkhola constituency in Cachar district, Sonowal credited the party’s governance and development initiatives for strengthening public trust. He stated that Assam has seen significant progress under BJP rule, with key decisions contributing to the state’s growth and identity.
Highlighting grassroots-level impact, he said government schemes have improved people’s lives across regions, including Barak Valley. He also criticised opposition parties, claiming they lack direction and public support.
Sonowal urged party workers to intensify voter outreach at the booth level ahead of the elections. The rally witnessed a strong turnout, with senior leaders and candidates in attendance.
The upcoming Assam Assembly elections are expected to see a multi-cornered contest, with the BJP-led alliance aiming to retain power.
