Bongaigaon Administration Clears Encroached Government Land at Kerkhabari

The Bongaigaon district administration on Friday cleared and fenced 75 bighas of encroached government land at Kerkhabari Part-II under Srijangram Revenue Circle. The land, allotted to Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) in 2013, had been occupied by six families for paddy cultivation.

District Commissioner Nabadeep Pathak, along with senior police officials, oversaw the eviction and secured the area with barbed wire fencing. The encroachers agreed to vacate but sought alternative land to continue farming, claiming earlier assurances were not fulfilled.
