Bongaigaon Pharmacist Surrenders After Woman Dies in Illegal Abortion

Abdur Rashid, a pharmacist in Bongaigaon, surrendered to Dhubri police after a woman died following an abortion at his clinic. The deceased’s family accused Rashid of hiding the cause of death and filed a complaint. After fleeing from Bongaigaon Civil Hospital, where the woman was declared dead, Rashid remained absconding until his surrender. Police have launched an investigation, led by senior officials, into the illegal abortion clinic.
