BONSU Urges Strict Border Surveillance to Prevent Influx from Bangladesh

The Bodo National Students’ Union (BONSU) has urged the Indian and Assam governments to enhance border surveillance following potential large-scale migration from Bangladesh due to recent political instability. In a memorandum to the Chief Minister of Assam, BONSU expressed concerns about the impact of illegal immigration on Assam’s tribal areas, particularly the Bodoland Territorial Council. They emphasized the need for strict monitoring, legal reforms, and additional support for tribal communities to safeguard their rights and resources.
