BPF Chief Hagrama Mohilary Confirms Congress Reached Out Before Assam Poll Results

Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) chief Hagrama Mohilary on Wednesday confirmed that Congress leaders had contacted some BPF members ahead of the Assam Assembly poll results, though no direct talks were held with him personally.
Mohilary’s statement supported Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s earlier claim that Congress attempted to reach out to the BPF before the results. He also questioned Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi’s ability to offer the chief minister’s post.
The BPF chief said the party’s main focus remains strengthening the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) and ensuring development under the NDA alliance, rather than seeking ministerial positions.
