BPF Sweeps BTC Polls, Wins 28 of 40 Seats

The Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) led by Hagrama Mohilary secured a decisive victory in the Bodoland Territorial Council elections, winning 28 of 40 seats. This marks a sharp rise from 17 seats in 2020, giving the party an absolute majority. UPPL managed seven seats while BJP won five. Mohilary won Debargaon but lost Chirangduar, while UPPL chief Pramod Boro lost Dotma. Kokrajhar emerged as a BPF stronghold with 11 of 12 seats going to the party. The result restores BPF’s dominance in the Bodoland region.
