BSF Tightens Security Along Assam–Bangladesh Border Amid Unrest

Amid the evolving situation in Bangladesh, the BSF has stepped up security along the India–Bangladesh border under the Cachar and Mizoram Frontier. Special vigilance has been imposed in riverine areas of Sribhumi and Cachar districts, with thermal cameras, night-vision devices and CCTV installed along the Kushiyara river stretch.

The BSF has activated its intelligence network and remains on high alert to prevent infiltration and illegal migration. The government has also alerted the second line of defence.

The heightened security follows violence in Bangladesh after youth leader Sharif Osman Hadi, 32, was shot in Dhaka last week and later died during treatment in Singapore.
