CBI Begins Probe Into Assam’s Multi-Crore Online Trading Scam

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has started investigating Assam’s multi-crore online trading scam, officials said on Monday. A CBI team arrived in the state and will soon reach Dibrugarh to interrogate key suspects, including actress Sumi Borah, her husband Tarkik Borah, and Bishal Phukan. Assam Police’s CID has already shared key details with the CBI. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed that 32 cases have been handed over to the CBI for investigation. The scam, amounting to Rs. 2,200 crore, was uncovered in September.
