CBSE Takes Action Against Schools for Malpractices

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has taken a significant step by issuing a notice listing schools that have been disaffiliated and downgraded due to various malpractices. Following surprise inspections, 20 schools have been disaffiliated and three downgraded nationwide. The notice highlights violations in affiliation and examination norms, including the presentation of dummy students and inadequate record-keeping. Notable among the affected institutions are Guwahati’s Sai RNS Academy, which has been disaffiliated, and Sreeram Academy in Assam’s Barpeta, which has been downgraded.
