Centre to Invest ₹3 Lakh Crore in Assam Road Projects: Gadkari

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced ₹3 lakh crore investment for road development in Assam, including 4-lane and 6-lane highways and multiple bridges over the Brahmaputra. Defending tolls, he said they fund infrastructure and apply only to 4-lane roads. Major projects like the Dibrugarh highway and Jorhat-Bogibeel four-lane road are progressing, with several set for completion by March-April 2025. A new toll policy will be introduced soon.
