Class 10 Student Drowns in Excavation Pit in Guwahati

A Class 10 student named Vishal from Betkuchi High School tragically drowned on Thursday morning in Guwahati’s Garaliya region. Vishal and his friends were bathing in a deep excavation pit formed during land clearing for highway expansion. Unable to save him, his friends raised the alarm. Vishal’s body was recovered and sent for a post-mortem. The pits in the area have raised concerns among locals due to their unpredictable depth and the dangers they pose, especially to children.
