CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Launches Nijut Moina 2.0 to Support 4 Lakh Girl Students

Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma launched Nijut Moina 2.0 at Gauhati University, expanding the scheme to benefit 4 lakh girl students in 2025–26.

Under the scheme, eligible HS, UG, PG, and B.Ed students will receive monthly financial aid ranging from ₹1,000 to ₹2,500. The coverage now includes central universities and self-financing courses.

Dr. Sarma emphasized the scheme’s role in empowering girls and preventing child marriage, aiming for 10 lakh beneficiaries in future phases. Applications will be submitted through institutions and uploaded via official education portals.
