CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Strengthens Assam-Singapore Ties Ahead of Advantage Assam 2.0
On his two-day visit to Singapore, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma met President Tharman Shanmugaratnam to discuss India-Singapore collaborations, with a focus on Assam’s role in the partnership. He emphasized strengthening ties in sectors like semiconductors, green energy, and advanced technology.
Sarma also met Low Cher Ek, CEO of Surbana Jurong, to explore Singapore’s expertise in urban planning for Assam’s future cities and industrial parks. Additionally, he engaged with semiconductor industry leaders, inviting them to invest in Assam’s upcoming Electronic City in Jagiroad.
Singapore was recently announced as the first partner country for the Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit on February 25, reinforcing Assam’s position as a key investment hub.
