CM Inaugurates New School Projects Worth ₹765 Crore, Targets Education Expansion

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated 67 modern school buildings and laid foundation stones for 62 more in Sonapur, involving an investment of ₹765 crore under the Rural Inter-Village Development Scheme. He said Assam will have over 4,000 high and higher secondary schools in the next five years.

On politics, Sarma announced a press conference on February 8 on broader issues beyond allegations against APCC president Gaurav Gogoi. He rejected Raijor Dal leader Akhil Gogoi’s claim on scrapping welfare schemes and asserted BJP-AGP unity ahead of the Assembly elections, adding that candidate selection would ensure social balance.
