CM Lays Foundation for Assam’s Second Ropeway in Biswanath

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma laid the foundation for Assam’s second ropeway connecting Biswanath Ghat to Umatumuni River Island, with a ₹60 crore budget and an 18-month completion target. The ropeway will enhance connectivity and tourism.

He also inaugurated a ₹17 crore automatic driving testing station, capable of testing 300 vehicles daily to improve road safety. The facility will issue fitness certificates and offer soft skills training for youth employment.

Additionally, Sarma announced plans for a medical college, a sports stadium, and a BSc Nursing College in Biswanath. Construction of Kanaklata University in Gohpur will begin within three months.
