CM Proposes Breakfast with Mid-Day Meals to Curb Dropouts

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma proposed adding breakfast to Assam’s mid-day meal scheme to boost school attendance and reduce dropouts, especially in tea garden and rural areas. Speaking at the foundation event for a ₹25.45 crore centralised MDM kitchen in Dibrugarh, he announced similar kitchens for Nalbari, Tezpur, and Lakhimpur. Meal distribution will be managed by Hare Krishna Foundation and Akshaya Patra.
