CM Sarma Rejects Opposition’s Vote Theft Allegations

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday dismissed opposition claims of “vote theft,” stating that such allegations are baseless as no electoral roll has been published yet. He said the opposition’s remarks reflect political insecurity ahead of the elections.
Sarma clarified that BJP leaders had only asked booth-level agents to verify electoral rolls by removing ineligible names and ensuring eligible voters are included, calling it a routine and lawful process. He also said BJP rule has brought development to Assam and Tripura, and claimed similar progress and stronger action against infiltration would follow if the party formed a government in West Bengal.
Commenting on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Sarma criticised her conduct during recent ED raids, calling it unfortunate and detrimental to the dignity of constitutional offices.
