CM Sarma Urges Dholai to Support BJP in By-Poll for Development
Ahead of the Dholai by-poll, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma urged voters to back BJP candidate Nihar Ranjan Das, asserting that voting for Congress would hinder development since BJP governs both the Centre and the state. Sarma likened Congress to a “male cow,” stating it wouldn’t deliver progress. He reassured Dholai residents that development is his responsibility, announcing infrastructure upgrades and an additional 20,000 beneficiaries for the Orunodoi scheme. Sarma dismissed Congress’ allegations about Das’ nationality as political tactics. Confident in BJP’s prospects, Sarma expects victory in four of five seats.
