CM Sarma Urges Public Not to Shelter Evicted Encroachers

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma warned against giving shelter to evicted persons, saying it could reverse progress made through eviction drives. He claimed over 29 lakh bighas remain encroached and reiterated the government’s commitment to reclaiming land to protect the indigenous community. Without naming any group, he linked encroachment to issues like “love jihad” and “land jihad”. He emphasized that no indigenous or Indian citizens would be evicted.
