College Principal Files FIR Over Alleged Mark-Tampering Scam in Assam
In a shocking development, the principal of Ganesh Lal Choudhary (GLC) College in Assam’s Barpeta Road has filed an FIR against a student over an alleged mark-tampering scam. The issue surfaced when a mathematics department teacher found discrepancies in a student’s marksheets during verification. The student’s marks were suspiciously inflated from nearly 6 points per paper to 8 points.
When confronted, the student from Howly offered no explanation. Sources allege the student paid Rs. 10,000 to have his marks altered. Despite being detained, he was quickly released by Barpeta Road police, raising concerns about the investigation’s rigor. Additionally, the inflated marksheet uploaded to a State University website was swiftly replaced with the original, suggesting possible internal foul play. Authorities are now investigating the incident to uncover the extent of the scam.
