A significant portion of the Bhagalpur-Sultanganj Bridge in Bihar collapsed for the third time, raising concerns about SP Singla Constructions, the firm behind the Guwahati-North Guwahati bridge project. The repeated failures at the Bihar site have sparked doubts about the safety and reliability of the ongoing Guwahati project. The Assam government has responded by hiring an IIT team to conduct a quality audit of the bridge, ensuring compliance with safety standards. The Guwahati-North Guwahati bridge, spanning 8.4 km across the Brahmaputra River, is still under construction.
