Congress Alleges Irregularities in Panchayat President Selection in Dalgaon

The Congress party has alleged irregularities in the selection of panchayat presidents in Daipam, Baligaon, and No. 5 Baruajhar GPs under Dalgaon. Led by Debabrata Saikia, a Congress delegation submitted a memorandum to the Additional Chief Secretary, Panchayat and Rural Development. The party claimed that despite majority support, opposing candidates were declared winners through biased and undemocratic means, including the use of force and secret ballots without transparency. Congress has demanded action against the involved officials and a fair re-election under neutral supervision.
