Congress Demands CBI Probe into Halted Jal Jeevan Mission Projects in Assam

The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) called for a CBI probe into the suspension of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) projects in Assam. APCC chief Bhupen Borah accused the government of corruption, stating contractors pay 8% to 15% as commissions, impacting project quality. He criticized Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and urged clarity. The Public Health Engineering Department flagged lapses in project management and quality assurance, leading to the suspension of activities.
