Congress Files FIR Against Assam BJP President for Exploitative Remarks

The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) filed an FIR against Assam BJP president Bhabesh Kalita at the Bhangagarh police station in Guwahati. Kalita’s comments during a public meeting in Rangiya on September 20 suggested that only BJP members would benefit from the Orunodoi scheme. He urged attendees to miscall a special BJP number for financial assistance, claiming that a BJP membership certificate was required for eligibility. APCC officials, led by Ratul Kalita, condemned his remarks as unconstitutional and demanded his immediate arrest, stating that welfare programs should not be politicized.
