Congress Targets PM Modi Ahead of Advantage Assam 2.0

Ahead of the Advantage Assam 2.0 event, Congress launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, questioning issues like illegal coal mining, tea workers’ wages, and corruption in Assam.

During a New Delhi press conference, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Bhupen Borah and MPs Gaurav Gogoi, Prodyut Bordoloi, and Rakibul Hussain raised concerns over illegal mining in Umrangso, allegedly run by Kanika Hojai, wife of Dima Hasao Autonomous Council CEM Debolal Garlosa.

Congress also criticized the government for not delivering on the promise of ₹351 daily wages for tea workers, who currently earn ₹220–₹250. AICC chief Mallikarjun Kharge accused the BJP of misgovernance, alleging a “factory of fake promises” in Assam.
