Controversy Erupts at Cachar College as Principal Faces Allegations of Facilitating Exam Cheating

Cachar College in Silchar finds itself embroiled in controversy once again, as allegations surface against its principal, Dr. Siddhartha Shankar Nath. The accusation claims that Dr. Nath supplied materials to two students during the ongoing Higher Secondary final year Physics exam, enabling them to adopt unfair means. The incident reportedly took place in the college’s sick room, where the students were seated for their exams.

Cachar ADC Antara Sen revealed that the students were caught in the act during invigilation, and in their written confession, they admitted to the principal’s involvement. Dr. Nath, who is also an uncle to one of the students, denied the allegations, asserting that he had voluntarily handed over his duties as the exam center in charge due to his nephew’s medical condition. The matter has been reported to the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council, triggering an investigation, though no FIR has been filed as of now.
