Controversy Erupts Over Doloo Tea Estate Land Acquisition

Following the Supreme Court’s directive to maintain the status quo at Doloo Tea Estate in Cachar district, reactions have flooded in from various political parties and associations in Barak Valley. AITC leader Sushmita Dev criticized the BJP-led government’s actions, calling the uprooting of tea shrubs and engagement of around 200 JCBs a conspiracy. Meanwhile, members of the Forum for Social Harmony reiterated their demand for safeguarding the interests of tea garden laborers, suggesting the proposed airport be constructed elsewhere and advocating for the re-allotment of land to laborers and replantation of tea shrubs.
